This is a contribution to a competition on Zutara-Nation. It's one hundred percent Zutara material and is set to the time after Sozens comet, when they have won the war and all is well. It's about two years after since Mai is long gone and Katara dumped Aang *evil smirk* - ENJOY!
Would she ever get used to hearing his laughter? After they defeated the Fire Nation and Zuko took his right place as Fire Lord they had been visiting very often. Many times they stayed for weeks. He always laughed. Especially when she was around they had told her.
Sokka was not a great fan of the fact that when his sister was around, Zuko seemed to be the jolliest person in the world, but he accepted it. Aang had come to her with his great concern: was there something going on between them that he did not know of? He was normally very good at reading people, but whenever the two of them was together he had a hard time figuring out what it was, but there was something.
She had to admit that she too felt a bit more happy and relaxed when she was around him, listening to his soothing voice, so comforting and warm.
"Have you too noticed the sudden change in Zuko's mood whenever Katara is around?" Toph had asked Suki one day. It was never her intention to eavesdrop; she just happened to be around the corner and stopped in her tracks to listen.
"Yes, do you think there's something going on between them?" Suki had replied with a whispering voice. "No I don't, I would've known if they were sneaking around. But there is however a sudden change in both of their heartbeats whenever the other person is around. It sounds like hundreds of galloping horses. And I've noticed that whenever they reach eye contact with each other it stops. They suddenly calm down for a reason."
Suki giggled. "Sounds to me like they're in love!" Toph had grunted a little. "But what about Twinkletoes?" "You do know that Aang and Katara broke up last summer, right?" "Yes, but he's still a little taken by her." "I know.." "But then again, it's not as much as before. His heartbeat is calmer and it doesn't jump whenever she's around. Just in special occasions, when we're, or they're talking about the old times." "Now that I can understand, who's hearts wouldn't jump?" "You don't get it.. Why am I even talking to you?" "I don't know.." "Gee.. Let's find Sokka.." "You've got a strange way of showing your care for people, you know that?" "Yes, but don't tell anyone I care or I will crush your bones as painfully as possible!" "Ok ok, calm down!"
Maybe they were right? Maybe she was in love with Zuko? But was he really in love with her too? It was so hard to tell. Zuko had become jollier now than he had been before, especially since he dumped that goth-girlfriend of his! She felt a burn of jealousy run through her chest as she thought of the raven-haired girl.
Why was she jealous? She had no reason. Zuko was her friend, she wasn't in love with him? This was only because she hadn't adapted to his new way of being. Yes, it had to be.
"Katara?" She turned around, completely dumbfound by the sound of his voice. He started laughing. His eyes creased softly and he pulled his fingers gently through his soft brown hair. "You startled me." He said. "Not as much as you startled me I would guess" she replied, joining his laugh.
They looked at each other for a moment and she could feel the familiar thump of her heart exploding in her chest. Those eyes. Those bright golden eyes that could read her like a book.
She quickly stared down at the floor, letting her loose hair hide the blushing appearing on her cheeks. "Hey, what just happened?" His laughter was calmer now, more – gentle. "Uhm, nothing, I just.." She tried to look in another direction. She could hear his footsteps closing in. "We better hurry up and join the others, I'll bet their starting to miss us. And we wouldn't want them to get the wrong idea, now would we?"
She could feel her heart sink inside of her as she lifted her head and met his eyes. So close. Only inches from her. When did he get this close? Why hadn't she noticed? "N-no, we wouldn't.."
His hand gently brushed away the bangs from her eyes and he smiled. She smiled. They both smiled. His hand stayed on her cheek. She could feel her heartbeat galloping inside her chest, if he'd been a little closer he would probably hear it, or feel it. So darn close, and yet a million miles away.
"Why don't you kiss me?" She whispered. His smile faded and she could feel his other arm gently being placed on her hip, moving on to her back and pulling her a little closer. "I didn't know you wanted me to.." he breathed. Leaning his forehead against hers.
"I do.." She whispered, closing her eyes and taking in his scent. He smelled like smoke, mango and cinnamon. All good this put together. Her chest exploded at the sudden contact of lips meeting lips. He was a really good kisser. His lips, gently touching hers. His arms around her, making her feel safe and wanted.
They parted unwillingly by the sound of person meeting floor in a hollow thump. As they turned their heads they saw a mildly shocked Aang, a fainted Sokka and two screaming girls giving each other a high five.
The laughter were not to be stopped. It came in waves. Soft waves that is. Filling her heart with so much joy and love that she was sure to get an overdose of it one day. Her addiction. Laughter. The soft laughs escaping his lips as he pulled her even closer, kissing her forehead and smelling her hair. This was what she wanted. To be with him. It was his laugh who had enchanted her. His laugh combined with that enchanting and mystical look in his eyes whenever he saw her. Yes, she was in love with Fire Lord Zuko.

Zuko leapt forward, his fists blazing. Azula blocked with a disk of blue fire, and Zuko had to throw himself to the right to dodge the stream of flame she shot his way. Katara took advantage of the princess distraction and hit her square in the gut with a whip of water. She went down hard, but came up just as fast.
Water swirled from the air into slices of ice that nearly impaled Azula where she stood. Katara pursued the retreating princess acro

A Moment of Happiness
Katara looked out towards the sunrise on her balcony. Her silky indigo nightgown and auburn brown hair rippled smoothly as a gentle breeze flew past. Golden rays of sunshine warming her olive brown skin making her sigh with happiness. She was now 5 months pregnant and her bump was becoming more prominent by the day. She caressed it tenderly, feeling truly content.
Good Morning. Her husband said groggily from their bed still slightly half asleep.
Morning she replied still looking at the sunrise. Suddenly she felt two muscular arms wrap around her and a tender kiss placed upon her cheek.

"Grandfather," Zuko looked up from his desk to see his grandson standing in his office doorway. The teen was still in his school uniform; something Zuko knew was odd because the boy usually tore it off to go practice firebending when he came home.
He motioned for his grandson to come in. "Is there something wrong?" He asked as the boy stopped in front of his desk.
"No, well maybe. Here," he handed a book to Zuko. It looked like the cheap new mass-produced ones that Zuko was still getting used to. "It's the most popular book at the Academy right now. Especially with the girls," Zuko watched the boys ears turn red. Zuko took the book a
